St. John Vianney 63 Paul VI 61 | Girls | Non-Public A South Final

In the game of the season in NJ featuring the state’s two top teams and two McDonald’s All-Americans, Zoe Brooks hit a shot at the buzzer to lift the Lancers to the title. The North Carolina State commit played through a foot injury to pour in a game-high 33 points for SJV (31-0). Notre Dame commit Hannah Hidalgo scored a team-high 19 points for the Eagles (21-3) in the loss.

St. Peter’s Prep 56 Bergen Catholic 55 | Boys | Non-Public A North Final

The Marauders rallied in the second half to erase a 12-point deficit and come back to stun the Crusaders. Trailing 35-23 early in the third quarter, St. Peter’s Prep (27-4) settled down and slowly began chipping away at the deficit. Clutch free throws from Ben Guy late in the fourth quarter helped the Marauders create distance and lock up the win. Guy and Jackson Tindall each had 14 points in the victory. Bergen Catholic (22-9) has their season come to an end – the Crusaders upset top-seeded Don Bosco in the sectional semifinals. St. Peter’s Prep will face Union Catholic in the Non-Public A state championship Friday night at Rutgers University.

Roselle Catholic 71 Montclair Immaculate 61 | Boys | Non-Public B North Final

Duke commit Mackenzie Mgbako led the way with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds to power Roselle Catholic to yet another sectional title. Mgbako, a McDonald’s All-American, missed the last four weeks with an ankle injury – this game was his second appearance back since returning. Rich Brice’s 14-point, 10-rebound double-double provided a valuable boost for RC (21-5) in the win. Louisville commit TJ Robinson and Tavian Pullock each scored 18 points for Immaculate (20-11) in the loss. Roselle Catholic will face St. Rose in the Non-Public B state championship on Friday night at Rutgers University.

Union Catholic 86 St. Joseph (Metuchen) 72 | Boys | Non-Public A South Final

The Vikings would not be denied their chance to make history as they knocked off the Falcons to win their first sectional title since 1987. Chim Okeoma led an explosive attack from fifth-seeded Union Catholic (20-9) with a game-high 26 points. Yaw Ansong chipped in with 14 points, while AJ Altobelli added 13 points in the victory. Jeremy Clayville scored a team-high 18 points in the loss for sixth-seeded St. Joseph (18-11). Union Catholic will face North champion St. Peter’s Prep for the Non-Public “A” state title on Friday at Rutgers University.

Immaculate Heart Academy 51 Pope John 42 OT | Girls | Non-Public A North Final

Immaculate Hear Academy claimed its 11th straight North, Non-Public A Title with a 51-42 overtime win over Pope John. Trailing by seven late in the fourth quarter, the Blue Eagles were able to tie the game thanks to a heroic effort from senior Bella Asencio who returned after leaving with a knee injury in the third quarter. Asencio finished with 11 points while Julia Schutz had 18.

Rutgers Prep 70 Wildwood Catholic 40 | Girls | Non-Public B South Final

The Argonauts rolled to their second straight sectional title. Mikayla Blakes led the way with 22 points, while Rhode Island commit Katie Ledden scored 20 points for Rutgers Prep (25-4) in the win. Carly Murphy scored a team-high 18 points for the Crusaders (24-6) in the loss. Rutgers Prep will now face Morris Catholic in the Non-Public B state final on Sunday in Toms River.

Morris Catholic 55 Montclair Immaculate 49 | Girls | Non-Public B North Final

(2) Morris Catholic led by sophomore twin sisters Mia and Mya Pauldo raised its first North Jersey, Non-Public B Title since 2014 with a 55-49 win over (4) Montclair Immaculate. The Lady Crusaders got out to a 12-1 lead over Immaculate in the first quarter as they would go ahead 27-18 at halftime. Montclair Immaculate would cut the lead to three in the fourth quarter, but would be unsuccessful in sending the game to overtime late in regulation. Ciera Cevallos finished with 19 points for Immaculate while Mia Pauldo led all scorers with 21 points, Mya had 11.
