St. Augustine 42 Holy Spirit 40 | Boys | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament Semifinal

Semaj Bethea hit a buzzer-beater from just inside half court to send the Hermits to the CAL title game. Elijah Brown led St. Augustine (22-2) with a game-high 18 points. Jamil Wilkins and Jahmir Smith scored 12 points and 11 points respectively for Spirit (14-8) in the loss.

Mainland 45 St. Joseph Academy 35 | Boys | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament Semifinal

The eighth-seeded Mustangs get it done again in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 15-3 to pull off another upset and reach their first CAL title game. Cohen Cook led the way with a game-high 21 points in the win for Mainland (14-10). Ja’Son Prevard scored a team-high 13 points in the loss for St. Joe (17-7). Mainland now faces two-seed St. Augustine for the CAL championship on Saturday at Absegami.

St. Thomas Aquinas 62 Monroe 41 | Boys | Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament Semifinal

(1) St. Thomas Aquinas (25-1) advanced to their second Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament Final in three years with a 62-41 victory over (4) Monroe (21-4). After a tightly contested first half, STA led 25-22 at the break. Adam Silas taking over the second half extended the lead to 49-32 after the third quarter, Silas finished the night with 18 points. St. Thomas Aquinas will take on (3) Colonia (21-3) in the GMCT Championship on 2/25 at Monroe Township High School. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:
