Linden 84 James Island (SC) 73 | Boys | Lowcountry Roundball Classic

Nas Robinson was sensational in South Carolina with 27 points and sophomore Jekhi Burnam had 22 points and 10 rebounds to give the Tigers a fifth straight win to open the season.  Linden plays Goose Creek (SC) on Friday to wrap up the 2023 slate.

Southern Regional 72 Trenton Central 58 | Boys | Score at the Shore 1st Round

The Rams used a second half surge to put away the Tornadoes after a back and forth battle to open the 2023 Score at the Shore. Jake Sliwinski led the way in the win with a team-high 23 points and four steals. Noah Perna had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds for Southern (3-2). Thomas Munoz drilled six triples on his way to a game-high 25 points in the loss for Trenton Central (1-4). The fifth-seeded Rams will face three-time defending champion and top-seeded Lenape in the semifinals on Thursday.

Westfield 55 Union City 47 | Boys | LeGrand Holiday Jubilee

Shane Sheehan put on a dunk display in the second half as part of a 21 point effort as the Blue Devils (2-3) wiped out an eight point halftime deficit to score back to back wins.  Union City led 19-8 after one and 28-20 at the half before Sheehan and Tyshawn Pearson stepped up in the second half.  Tied at 38 after 3, Sheehan had two emphatic slams as part of a dominant fourth quarter.

Woodbridge 72 Manalapan 63 | Boys | Huskies Holiday Classic

 An overpowering defensive showing in the second quarter gave the Barrons a comfortable lead at halftime – one that they’d hold until the final whistle. Led by a game-high 17 points from Jordan Williams-Byron, Woodbridge (4-1) advances to the semifinal round of the annual Huskies Holiday Classic. Bryan Anderson tallied 16 points and Micah Eason had 14 points in the win for the Barrons. Aiden Sosinov put up a game-high 25 points for Manalapan (2-3), who is now in the midst of a three-game losing streak.

Montgomery 72 North Hunterdon 39 | Boys | Cougar Holiday Classic

Montgomery remains undefeated on the season at 5-0 following a 72-39 victory over North Hunterdon. The Cougars quickly got out to a double digit lead in the first half as North Hunterdon trailed 32-13 at the break. The game was headlined by 6’9 junior  Bohdan Biekietov who made his fifth varsity start since moving to America from Ukraine in September, Biekietov finished with eight points while sophomore Ethan Lin had 21 points on the night.
