Tuesday was a de facto opening day for dozens of lacrosse teams around the state and we’ve got some big matchups to get the week off to a great start. CBA 7 Bergen Catholic 6 (OT) | Boys
Davis Campbell was the hero for the Colts in their season-opener after burying a big overtime goal to take down the Crusaders. Campbell ultimately scored two goals and Ryan Martin had a hat trick for CBA (1-0) in the win. Bergen Catholic (0-1) took their first lead of the game in the third quarter with three unanswered goals.

St. Augustine 8 Westfield 7 (OT) | Boys
Mason Raucci delivered the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Hermits a thrilling victory in a battle between top-15 teams in New Jersey. Sebastian Varallo netted a hat trick, while Delaware commit Noah Plenn and Ryan Wodazak each added a pair of goals in the victory. Garrett Ferguson poured in four goals to lead the way for Westfield.

Monroe 16 Steinert 5 | Boys
Monroe began the Boys Lacrosse season with a dominating 16-5 victory over Steinert. The five-time reigning GMC Tournament Champions quickly went ahead 7-2 at halftime following three early scores from Jake Evanchick, Evanchick would finish with four goals. The Falcons extended their lead to 12 entering the fourth quarter as Jack Price, Sal Marchione and Jack Rowan each finished with three goals and an assist while Jordan Lacerte ended his afternoon with two goals and six assists for eight points.

Abby Boyle had four goals and four assists and the duo of Rachel James and Mia Milkowski each had hat tricks to lead a dominating effort on a rainy day in Rumson.
