Brick Memorial 55 Colts Neck 38 | Central Group 3 | Boys
Luke Braaten had a monster double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds and Josh Michigan scored 18 in the final two quarters after a scoreless first half to give Brick Memorial a state playoff win. The game marked the end of the coaching career of Colts Neck’s Lou Piccola who’s retiring after 50 years of coaching and over 600 wins. Colonia 60 Steinert 23 | Central Group 3 | Girls
Colonia (23-4) defeated Steinert (9-13) 60-23 to advance to the Central Jersey, Group 3 Quarterfinals. The Patriots led 28-14 after the second quarter following a big first half from junior Mattison Chiera and they controlled the pace of the game from there. Chiera led all scorers with 26 points, Taylor Derkack had 16 points. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:
