Delran 6 Rumson-Fair Haven 2 | Group 2 State Semifinal
Drew Roskos scored three goals on his 16th birthday including the go-ahead score to break a 2-2 halftime tie as the Bears outscored RFH 4-0 in the second half to reach the Group 2 state championship game. Roskos has 32 goals in his sophomore campaign scoring Delran’s first three goals. RFH tied the game at 1 early on an Alec Pentikis goal and took a 2-1 lead on an Antonio Santos strike that clanked off the far post and in the net. Roskos and Andrew Grello scored goals 43 seconds apart early in the second half to open up a 4-2 lead and Delran cruised from there. The Bears will face Ramsey in the Group 2 state championship on Saturday at Kean University. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from RFH:
Haddon Twp. 3 Florence 1 | Group 1 State Semifinal
Graham Looram scored a pair of goals in the first half for the Hawks, before Haddon Township hung on to advance to the state title game. Kevin Krall scored his 32nd goal of the season for the Flashes (17-5-2) in the 67th minute to pull Florence within one. But Nasir Morris scored a goal just three minutes later to put the game away for the Hawks (16-6-1). Haddon Township will face either Waldwick or Cedar Grove in the Group 1 state final on Saturday at 5:30 at Kean.
