Cherokee 2 Washington Twp. 1 (2OT) | Boys | Group 4 South

Chris Meder scored a golden goal with 44 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to send the Chiefs to the sectional semifinals. Meder also scored a goal in regulation for 11th-seeded Cherokee (12-5). Matt Liss converted a penalty kick for the third-seeded Minutemen (14-4-1) in the loss. The Chiefs will now travel to Kingsway on Monday.

New Brunswick 4 Monroe 3 OT | Boys | Group 4 Central

3) New Brunswick (13-7-1) defeated (6) Monroe (12-7-3) 4-3 in overtime to advance to the Central Jersey, Group 4 Semifinals. Down 2-0 at halftime, New Brunswick following back to back goals from David Canseco would tie the game at 2-2. Jared Krasnove would give Monroe a brief lead before Adrian Gabino tied the game with seven minutes remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime. In O.T. Bryan Cervantes would find net in the opening two minutes to advance New Brunswick. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Kingsway 2 Shawnee 0 | Boys | Group 4 South

The second-seeded Dragons defended home turf against the seventh-seeded Renegades to earn a spot in the Group 4 South semifinals. Senior Tyler Cordery and junior Antonio Amoroso each score goals for Kingsway (16-2-1). Senior AJ Henry picked up the clean sheet in net for the Dragons. Kingsway will host Cherokee on Monday.
