Holmdel 0 Wall 0 (Hornets win PKs 4-3) | Central Jersey Group 2 Quarterfinal
Tommy Chyzowych made two saves in PK’s and scored the game clincher in round 5 to give the Hornets a spot in the Central Jersey Group 2 semifinal. Holmdel will face top seed Voorhees on Monday in the semis. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has all the drama and post-match reaction from Holmdel:
Scotch Plains-Fanwood 1 Linden 0 | North 2 Group 4 Quarterfinal
Isaac Tu’s goal in the 32nd minute proved to be the difference maker in a tight matchup of two talented Union County programs on Thursday. Tu’s score powered fifth-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood (13-4-2) to the win against talented four-seed Linden (20-2) to advance into the next round of the playoffs. Sophomore keeper Graham Kois made a number of key stops in the second half to help lock up the win. Scotch Plains-Fanwood will visit top-seeded Elizabeth in the sectional semifinals on Monday.
