University 68 Montclair Immaculate 62 | Girls

No. 17 University (11-4) defeated No. 4 Montclair Immaculate (10-2) for a 68-62 upset victory. The Lions led 31-30 at halftime, however the second half is when University was able to not only build a lead and maintain it down the stretch, but held St. John’s commit Tyonna Bailey to just three points that came in the opening minute of the fourth quarter. Bailey finished with 17 points while Destiny-Bynum-Johnson had 24 points to accompany 15 rebounds for University.

Manasquan 41 Saint Rose 37 | Boys

Ryan Frauenheim’s three-pointer with 3:08 to go gave the Warriors a 39-37 lead and Alex Konov sunk a pair of free throws with 10 seconds left to give Manasquan a regular season split of its Shore Conference rival, handing the Purple Roses its first loss of the season.   Darius Adams led all scorers with 12 points and Jack Dettlinger had a couple of key offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter as part of his 10 points, 6 rebound effort.  Evan Romano led Saint Rose with 12 who now face state power Roselle Catholic on Saturday.

Wildwood 65 Gloucester Catholic 50 | Boys

The Warriors pulled away late to win, taking firm control of the Tri-County Conference Classic Division. Junior Hans poured in a game-high 22 points for Wildwood (12-2). Jordan Fusik added 15 points, while Harley Buscham chipped in with 13 points in the victory. Jack Mustaro scored a team-high 18 points for the Rams (8-4) in the loss.
