Roselle Catholic 63 Ranney 61 – Non-Public “B” Boys State Championship

Naz Reid blocked a game-winning shot attempt and raced up the floor to slam down an alley-oop pass from Ithiel Horton with under 10 seconds left to give the Lions a state championship.  Roselle Catholic overcame a seven-point deficit with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter in an amazing come from behind win.  Reid finished the game with 22 points and 9 rebounds and led the comeback in crunch time.  Ranney played inspired basketball against New Jersey’s #1 ranked team.  The Panthers had four players in double digits led by Ahmadu Sarnor’s 16 points.  Scottie Lewis had 12 points, 9 rebounds + 8 assists.  This game was an instant classic!  JSZ has multiple angles of the play that won the state title and a full breakdown along with post-game reaction in Toms River:

Don Bosco Prep 61 Camden Catholic 54 – Non-Public “A” Boys State Championship

Marcellus Earlington had 24 points and 12 rebounds as Don Bosco Prep held off a fourth quarter rally from to make it back to back state titles.  JSZ has highlights of Earlington’s inside-outside prowess and all the action from RJW Barnabas Arena in Toms River:

Saint Rose 53 IHA 39 – Non-Public “A” Girls State Championship

Ariana Dalia led a balanced attack with 11 points as the Purple Roses used smothering defense to win the Non-Public “A” Girls State Championship.  Leading 22-15 at the half,  Saint Rose used a 15-8 third quarter to bust the game open.  JSZ has highlights and post-game reaction from Toms River:

 

Saddle River Day 73 Rutgers Prep 49 – Non-Public “B” Girls State Championship 

Saddle River Day jumped out to an early start in the first quarter with a 10-2 lead and ran the table from there. Star point guard, Michelle Sidor set the tone with 28 points and six assists, leading her team to a 73-49 victory over the Argonauts.
