Seton Hall Prep 20 Don Bosco Prep 7
The Pirates got a late first-half TD pass from Jaden Craig to Nick Dunneman to take the lead and Myles Thomasen added a third-quarter TD run to give the Pirates their first win over the Ironmen since 1976. The Seton Hall Prep defense created three turnovers headlined by Jackson Dowd’s two INT’s. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights and post-game reaction from West Orange:

Westfield 31 St. Joseph (Metuchen) 20
After a two game season in 2020, Westfield was back in business for their much anticipated home opener against St. Joseph (Metuchen). Joe’s would take a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, shortly after Westfield answered back with a field goal and two touchdowns from Justin Colby to lead 17-7, however Omari Jones added his second score of the day for the Falcons to trail 17-13. The Blue Devils with a big defensive effort in the second half limited St. Joe’s on offense and tact on a pair of scores to take the match up 31-20.

Cedar Creek 42 Pleasantville 0
The Pirates continue their red-hot start to the season with a dominant victory over the Greyhounds (0-3). Seniors JoJo Bermudez and Ja’Quan Howard each found the endzone twice in the win as Cedar Creek (3-0) has now outscored its opponents 130-0 through three games. Junior DL Malik Moore-Summers got the Pirates defense on the board with a 20-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Paulsboro 21 Penns Grove 20
The Red Raiders stuffed the Red Devils on a 2-point conversion attempt with under a minute left in the ballgame to seal the victory. Ameer Bateman rushed for a touchdown for Paulsboro (2-1) in the win, while Sharif Green and Keyshun Sanders each caught a touchdown pass. Jaleel Patrick had a touchdown run and a TD catch for Penns Grove (2-1) in the loss.

Winslow Twp. 32 Woodrow Wilson 30
Trailing by ten in the fourth quarter, the Eagles engineered an incredible comeback to knock off the Tigers for a statement victory. Senior QB Hamas Duren scored five total touchdowns in the win for Winslow Twp. (2-1). Senior QB Devin Kargman threw for three touchdowns in the loss for Woodrow Wilson (1-1).
