Opening weekend continues with great games all across the state!


Notre Dame 48 Wayne Valley 27 | Non-Conference

Notre Dame begins the year 1-0 following a 48-27 win over Wayne Valley. Rutgers commit AJ Surace dazzled fans with a four touchdown performance as he rushed for 216 yards and threw for an additional 173.

Point Pleasant Boro 42 Colts Neck 20 | Shore Conference

Freshman Jake Clayton opened the second half with a 77-yard kickoff return for a score to break a 14-14 tie and Matt Oliphant led the Panthers option attack with 202 yards and three TD’s to give Point Boro an impressive week 0 win.  Jake Croce added a 56 yard TD in the third and topped 100 yards on the ground with Clayton scoring his first varsity TD with a 31-yard run in the second quarter.  Colts Neck’s Chris Scully ran for 146 yards and two scores in a losing effort.

Montclair 30 Clifton 15 | Jim Grasso Kickoff Classic

Malachi Lewis shined in his debut for the Mounties, tossing a trio of first-half touchdowns to build a lead that his squad would not give up. Lewis fired three unanswered TD’s to Jace Auletta, David Thomas-Rogers and Richard Williams for Montclair (1-0) in the win. Devon Stroble pounded in two rushing touchdowns for Clifton (0-1) in the loss.

Hightstown 19 West Deptford 7 | Battle at the Beach

Devron Lewis returned the opening kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown to help boost the Rams to victory in Ocean City. Lewis also added a 48-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, while Aidan Carter blocked a punt, scooped and scored. Brady Cobb scored the lone touchdown of the game for the Eagles in the loss.

Keyport 41 Manville 6 | Non-Conference

Holy Cross commit Nazir Treadwell had three touchdown runs and two TD passes and accounted for over 250 all-purpose yards in an impressive season opener at home by the Red Raiders.  Treadwell had a 2-yard TD run to start the scoring, followed by a TD pass to Mike Ford and a 50-yard TD run in the second quarter. He would add a 60-yard TD run and one more TD pass in the third quarter.  Mekai Henderson busted a 96-yard touchdown run in the Keyport victory.

Rancocas Valley 21 Union 6 | Battle at the Beach

Malachi Castle scored a pair of touchdowns as the Red Devils hit the ground running in a season-opening win against the Farmers. Jameer Bellamy made a big impact in the fourth quarter with a 35-yard rushing touchdown for Rancocas Valley (1-0). Renick Dorilas hauled in a 26-yard touchdown catch in the loss for Union (0-1).
