Paul VI and Red Bank Catholic meet in a rematch of last year’s Non-Public “A” South final in girls hoops. Plus, Camden Catholic tries to keep making magic as they face St. Peter’s Prep in the “A” South boys final. Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!


Camden Catholic 70 St. Peter’s Prep 65 (2OT) | Boys | Non-Public “A” South Final

The Irish won in double overtime for the second straight game, outlasting the Marauders to win the Non-Public A South title. Seamus Bieg hit six three-pointers en route to a game-high 22 points for Camden Catholic. Luke Kennevan registered a triple-double (16 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds), while Bryce Clark added 16 points in the win for the Irish (24-6). Richie Rosa scored 19 points and Mason Santiago went for 17 points for St. Peter’s (23-5) in the loss. Camden Catholic will face North Jersey champion Bergen Catholic in the state final on Friday at Rugers.

Paul VI 47 Red Bank Catholic 46 | Girls | Non-Public “A” South Final

UMass commit Anya George gave PVI the lead with a pair of free throws with 15.2 seconds to go, then the Eagles survived a chaotic final sequence to bring home its first sectional title since 1989. George finished with eight points in the win. Brooke Stagliano went for a game-high 16 points, while Rachel Thatcher added ten points in the win for Paul VI (27-0). Addy Nyemchek scored a team-high 13 points in the loss for defending champion Red Bank Catholic (27-5). The stage is now set as Paul VI will face Morris Catholic for the Non-Public “A” state title and the number one ranking in New Jersey on Friday at Rutgers University.
