The final day of the 2024-2025 high school hockey season comes to a close on Monday with four state championships at the Prudential Center in Newark. Stay tuned with our team here as we’ll have highlights and coverage throughout the day. 


Westfield 5 Ridgewood 2 | Public State Final

Aidan Wilson broke a 1-1 tie to spark a two goal outburst late in the first period to give the Blue Devils separation and the school’s first ever state championship on the ice.  Jackson Chicola had a goal and an assist with Jack Conrod, Danny McDevitt and Brody Esler finding the net for the Blue Devils.  AJ Losauro had both goals for Ridgewood.

Delbarton 5 CBA 1 | Non-Public State Final

The Green Wave’s seven year championship drought is officially over. Dante Rodriguez buried a pair of goals while Jack Gerne was named the Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau MVP for his one-goal performance. George Cote made 29 saves in the cage for Delbarton (21-1-1), who went undefeated against in-state competition this year. Nick Desiderio scored the lone goal for CBA (22-7).

KJS United 4 Marlboro-Holmdel 3| Public Co-op State Final

Braydon Sisco scored his 49th and 50th goals of the season in the third period to give KJS United the lead for good and the co-op state championship.  Marlboro-Holmdel had a 2-1 lead after two periods before Sisco scored two straight to put KJS United in front for good.  Sasha Saks had two goals for the Mustangs.  Kinnelon won a state championship in 2008, the new tri-op which includes Jefferson Towsnhip and Sparta gives the two Sussex County schools their first state hockey title.

Princeton Day 7 Immaculate Heart 0 | Girls’ State Final

In the 2021-2022 season, Princeton Day (14-2-1) made their first state championship but lost 7-0. Now in 2025, they claim their first state title with the 7-0 victory against second-seeded Immaculate Heart (11-3). Samantha Dandy and Eibhleann Knox notched 2 goals apiece, captain Aerin Bruno notched a JSZ Devil’s Goal of the Month, and Brynn Dandy was named the games MVP with a goal and two assists. PD goalie Kelly Stevens finished with 20 saves, the shutout, and a jaw-dropping save that’s sure to make the JSZ top 10!
