Ramapo 52 Colonia 46 | Boys | Group 3 State Semifinal

A masterclass defensive gameplan paired with a huge game from a freshman will send the Raiders to Rutgers University for the third year in a row. AJ Grieg led all players with a game-high 24 points as Ramapo (19-10) knocked off the Group 3 favorites in decisive fashion. Head coach Nick Vier’s defense held Colonia (27-5) to one player in double-digits as they took over in the second half. Aiden Derkack led the Patriots with a team-high 19 points in the loss. Ramapo, the two-time defending Group 3 champions, will face Colts Neck in the Group 3 final on Saturday.

Colts Neck 47 Ocean City 45 | Boys | Group 3 State Semifinal

The Cougars trailed by as many as ten in the third quarter, but battled all the way back to punch their ticket to their first Group 3 state final. Dillon Younger scored eight of his nine points in the second half, including the go-ahead basket with 17 seconds to go. Lukas Sloane went for a team-high 17 points for Central champion Colts Neck (19-9). Luke Tjoumakaris poured in a game-high 21 points in the loss for South champion Ocean City (22-7). Colts Neck advances to face Ramapo for the Group 3 state title on Saturday night at Rutgers University.

Newark Tech 60 Paterson Charter 47 | Boys | Group 1 State Semifinal

Malcolm Bragg scored 17 and Julian Baker added 15 to lead the Terriers to the Group 1 state championship game for a third straight year.  Newark Tech (24-4) is on an 11 game win streak and will face Thrive Charter this Saturday in the Group 1 final.  Paterson Kennedy’s season comes to an end with a 22-7 mark.
