Rumson-Fair Haven 9 Verona-Glen Ridge 0 – Public C First Round
Sam Catalano scored a hat trick to pace a dominating effort by the Bulldogs. RFH scored a pair of goals in the first and put the game away with a four goal outburst in the second period. Rumson earns a spot in the second round a matchup with top seed Indian Hills. JSZ brings you the highlights and post-game reaction from the Red Bank Armory:

Nutley 3 West Windsor-Plainsboro 2 – Public A First Round
19th seed Nutley upset the 14 seed in the Public A Tournament bracket, West Windsor-Plainsboro for some first round drama. After a scoreless first period the Raiders scored twice in the second, including a penalty shot from Joe Melillo to take a two goal lead. Rocco Albanese would get his second score to begin the final period. Despite West Windsor countering back with a pair of goals the defensive effort from Nutley goalie Johnny Matrona was enough to secure the victory. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:
