Female wrestlers from all over the state of New Jersey came together at Red Bank Regional on Sunday night, competing in the first ever Girls Wrestling Region Champs. Each one of these wrestlers went down in New Jersey High School Athletics history, as they each represented their high schools at this brand new Championship.
The girls who wrestle for their high school teams are used to being surrounded by mostly boys. However, Sunday night was the first time that female wrestlers in the state of New Jersey wrestled only against other females. The wrestlers who won their matches from the North and South Jersey Finals on Sunday night, will also be competing at the NJSIAA State Championships in Atlantic City at the end of February in just under two weeks.
