The regular season comes to a close in New Jersey high school football and JSZ brings you eight games of highlights in the rain and wind.  St. Peter’s Prep and St. Joe’s-Montvale battled for playoff positioning, the MAPL final between Peddie and Hun came down to the final play, plus we’ve got big regular-season finale wins for Delbarton and Edison. Watch JSZ’s Saturday Week 8 preview of our coverage and scroll down to watch highlights of all our games:

St. Joe’s-Montvale 16 St. Peter’s Prep 7

Touchdowns from Audric Estime and Gavin Sharkey and nearly lockdown play from the Green Knights’ defense were the keys to St. Joe’s 16-7 victory over St. Peter’s Prep Saturday. The win puts St. Joe’s at 7-2 on the season and they’re in the driver’s seat to a top seed in the Non-Public Group 4 playoffs. JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights from Montvale:

Hun 21 Peddie 16

After falling to MAPL rival Peddie 61-7 Hun pulled out an exciting 21-16 win. After trailing by nine at halftime the Raiders with the help of University of North Carolina commit Josh Henderson scored 21 straight points. As the Falcons staged a comeback trailing by five points and a goal line opportunity Malcolm Brunson grabbed a last second interception to secure the victory. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Delbarton 23 Clifton 14

Gateway 27 Paulsboro 20

Ready for a blast from the past? The Gateway Gators captured their first victory over Paulsboro in 33 years, dating all the way back to 1985 when Michael Jordan won Rookie of the Year with the Chicago Bulls and Ronald Reagan was President of the United States. JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the highlights from this historic South Jersey win:

Edison 15 Plainfield 0

Lucas Loffredo had a 49 yard TD run in the first quarter and the Edison defense held Plainfield to -20 yards rushing as the Eagles shutout Plainfield on a muddy field to get to 6-2.  JSZ has the highlights and post-game reaction from Edison’s playoff-clinching win:

Ewing 14 Pemberton 0

Tywayne Reed stepped in for an injured Caleb Stokes at quarterback and delivered a pair of TD runs and the Ewing defense had five interceptions as the Blue Devils get a shutout win to reach 5-3 on the season.  JSZ has the highlights and post-game reaction from Madison Bess:
