Piscataway 28 Somerville 14 | Big Central Conference

Zaire Young had 37 carries for 268 yards and three touchdowns highlighted by a 57-yard TD run on 4th and 1 early in the fourth quarter to put the game away as the Chiefs open the season with an impressive second straight victory. Somerville got a 92-yard kickoff return from Dushawn Dorsey on the first play of the game and Thyce Pappas had a 55-yard pick six to give the Pioneers a 14-7 lead. But QB Landon Pernell connected with Cody Hardy to tie the game 14-14 after one and Young took over in the second with a stellar performance.

Washington Twp. 39 Millville 20 | West Jersey Football League

The Minutemen shook off an early 14-0 deficit and delivered a statement victory against the Thunderbolts for their 16th-straight win. Lucas McCabe highlighted a five-turnover night from the Township defense with a pivotal pick-six for one of his two interceptions in the contest. Elijah Cole and Drew Dorsey ran for a pair of touchdowns each for Washington Township (2-0). Reggie Holley rushed for a touchdown and had a 96-yard pick-six for Millville (1-1).

Shabazz 13 Passaic Tech 0 | Super Football Conference

No. 14 Shabazz once again proved that they belong amidst their gauntlet of a schedule as the Bulldogs defeated No. 13 Passaic Tech 13-0 on Friday night. This marks Group 3’s newest team’s second straight win against Group 5 opponents to start the year. Shabazz got their first points on their opening drive as New Haven commit Faheem Ausbon scored a 3-yard rushing touchdown. The Shabazz defense truly shined as the first half went on, turning over PCTI twice on downs inside the 15. With under 10:00 left in the game, WR Nosym Brown scored on a 31-yard screen pass to make it 13-0, and 5-star CB Nasir Richardson got the game-clinching INT on PCTI’s ensuing drive.

Old Tappan 35 Ramapo 26 | Super Football Conference

Old Tappan storms back from a 14-7 1st half deficit behind a MONSTER performance from QB Zach Miceli, who scored four rushing touchdowns to lead the Golden Knights past Ramapo, 35-26! The win also marks the 200th career victory for Head Coach Brian Dunn!

Burlington Twp. 28 Cherokee 0 | West Jersey Football League

The Falcons will call Wilbur Watts Field home for 2026 while a new field is being built at their school, and they showed out in their home opener. All-Zoner Aiden Binns rushed for 194 yards and two scores, while Bryce Carter tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Mehki Curry. Burlington Twp. (1-1) was stifling on defense, recording four interceptions, including three on Cherokee’s (1-1) first-quarter drives. BT picks up a Colonial Division win.

Donovan Catholic 45 St. John Vianney 13 | Shore Conference

Kahden Davis threw for 223 passing yards with three TD passes and a touchdown run to lead a second straight week of a juggernaut offense. Alex Staten had 14 carries for 121 yards highlighted by a 69 yard rushing score to get the Griffins to 2-0 on the season.
