Don Bosco Prep 48 Archbishop Spalding (MD) 28

A career day from quarterback Nick Minicucci has the Ironmen off to a 1-0 start in the 2022 season. Minicucci, a Delaware commit, compiled 376 yards of total offense and tossed three touchdown passes in a lopsided win over Archbishop Spalding. Dan Parisi caught a pair of scores while Ronnie Heath eclipsed 100 rushing yards and had two touchdowns of his own.

Irvington 20 Woodbridge 7

Rutgers commit Famah Toure had a 47-yard TD catch and made a number of key plays on defense and Kentucky verbal Nasir Addison had a 49-yard pick-six as the Blue Knights overcame turnovers and an injury to starting quarterback Nacir Ransom to pick up a road win to open the 2022 season.

Old Bridge 40 Trenton 6

Old Bridge begins the 2022 football season 1-0 following a dominating 40-6 opening night victory over Trenton. The Knights jumped out to an early 13-0 lead in the second quarter following two touchdown receptions from Wide receiver Tommy McAleavey, they would go ahead 26-6 at halftime. Quarterback Brady Cavallaro finished the game with four throwing scores as Matt Donaghue got his first win as Head Coach.

Salem 53 Cedar Grove 13 | Battle at the Beach

Salem sent a message to open the season, in this matchup between the two 2021 Group 1 regional champions. Jahki Coates rushed for three touchdowns and threw for three scores to lead the way for the Rams. Abdul Bell added a kickoff return for TD and a TD catch for Salem. Edmund Dakar had a touchdown catch and an INT for the Panthers in the loss.

Mainland 37 Egg Harbor Twp. 0 | Battle at the Beach

The Mustangs made a strong opening statement in the first football game of the season in New Jersey at the 2022 Battle at the Beach. Jamie Tyson hauled in a receiving touchdown and returned a fumble for a touchdown as Mainland (1-0) closed the second half with three touchdowns in the final three minutes. Villanova commit Jabriel Mace, Cohen Cook, and Rocco DeBiaso each found the endzone in the win for the Mustangs.
