St. Peter’s Prep 52 Hudson Catholic 49 | Boys | Non-Public A North Quarterfinal

How many teams play against each other four times in one season? The Marauders and Hawks sure did this year, and the finale produced another great game. Jackson Tindall’s 16 point, 8 rebound and 8 assist performance was key to St. Peter’s Prep (23-4) capturing a huge playoff win over rival Hudson Catholic (23-3) at the Hawks’ home gym. The game went back and forth numerous times and had the house rocking all night. St. Peter’s advances to face top-seeded Bergen Catholic on Monday.

Lenape 66 Egg Harbor Twp. 52 | Boys | Group 4 South Semifinal

Tayvon Gaither and Aidan Anderson each scored 21 points, as the second-seeded Indians pulled away from the third-seeded Eagles in the fourth quarter. Rutgers commit Derek Simpson and Tye Dorset added 12 points apiece for Lenape (26-3). Carlos Lopez scored a team-high 16 points for EHT (23-4) in the loss. The Indians advance to face top-seeded Cherry Hill East in the sectional final on Monday.

Haddonfield 26 Sterling 25 | Boys | Group 2 South Semifinal

The Bulldogs turned the tables on the Silver Knights, snapping a three-game losing streak to their Colonial Conference rival, to advance to their fifth-straight sectional final. Tommy Mooney scored a team-high eight points, and sealed the deal with the game-ending block for Haddonfield (20-9). Mike Ermel finished with a team-high 12 points in the loss for Sterling (22-6). Haddonfield will face top-seed Camden for the Group 2 South championship on Monday.

Manasquan 45 Holmdel 41 | Girls | Group 2 Central Semifinal

Brooke Hollawell scored 17 points including her 1000th career point to give Manasquan the chance to play for an unbelievable eighth consecutive sectional championship this Tuesday against New Providence. The game marked the second meeting between Manasquan coach Lisa Kukoda who coached against husband Matt, the Holmdel principal, who stepped in to coach the Hornets girls in January. Westfield 64 Bayonne 48 | Girls | North 2, Group 4 Semifinal

(1) Westfield (25-5) defeated (4) Bayonne (18-8) to advance to the North 2, Group 4 Girls Basketball Final. The Blue Devils got a lift from Bucknell University commit Grace Klag in the first half to lead 30-13 after two quarters. Westfield would lead by as many as 25 in the third quarter, Klag finished with 22 points and 18 rebounds. They take on (6) Hillsborough (18-8) on 3/8. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Immaculate Heart 45 Hudson Catholic 42 | Girls | Non-Public A Quarterfinal

After the Blue Eagles controlled early, the Hawks made a push late into the fourth quarter but the strong IHA defense and well timed three-pointer from Gina Gaccione set IHA ahead. Janaya Myers lead all scorers with 18 points in the loss while Isabella Asencio and Selena Cieszko combined for 27 for the Eagles in the loss.
