Keyport New Egypt | Boys | Central Group 1 Semifinal

Keyport (19-6) defeated New Egypt (16-11) 67-53 to advance to their first Sectional Final since 2004. Locked into a tight 27-26 game at halftime, the contest remained close until the fourth quarter when the Red Raiders led by senior standout DJ Thompson went ahead by as many as 15. Thompson finished with 23 points while George Mitchell had 16 for Keyport. Devin Kimmick for New Egypt led all scorers with 30 points. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights and postgame reaction:

Robbinsville Brick Memorial | Boys | Central Group 3 Semifinal

(2) Robbinsville (20-7) defeated (3) Brick Memorial (20-7) 40-39 to advance to the program’s first ever Sectional Final. Brick would take a 14-13 lead at halftime before Brian Herbert helped Robbinsville jump in front 29-21 to end the third quarter. The Mustangs trailing 40-39 with five seconds remaining in regulation came up just short on a missed foul shot. Brian Herbert finished with 12 points. The Ravens take on (1) Manasquan (24-5) for the Central Jersey, Group 3 Championship on 3/8. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights and postgame reaction:
