St. Thomas Aquinas 69 Colonia 53 | Greater Middlesex Conference Boys Final

(1) St. Thomas Aquinas (26-1) defeated Colonia (21-4) 69-53 to capture their second Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament Title in three years. STA trailed 13-10 after the first quarter, Adam Silas with 11 points in the second put the Trojans up 31-24 at halftime and never relinquished their lead. St. Thomas Aquinas 64 South Brunswick 58 | Greater Middlesex Conference Girls Final

Freshman Leah Crosby had 21 points and 14 rebounds to earn MVP honors as the Trojans built a 22 point lead in the fourth quarter and were forced to hold off a late comeback attempt by the #7 seed. Jessica Cooper had 20 points and 7 rebounds to give the Trojans a third straight GMC championship. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Monroe High School:

Morris Catholic 63 Morristown 35 | Morris County Girls Championship

A well-balanced offensive effort paired with a suffocating defensive performance lifted the Crusaders to their first Morris County Tournament title since 2016. Mia Pauldo was named the tournament MVP and closed it out with a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double for Morris Catholic (23-1). Natalie Stoupakis, Mya Pauldo and Daniella Matus all reached double-digits in the win.
