Bergen Catholic 71 Don Bosco 64 | Boys | Bergen County Jamboree Final

Will Richardson and Julian Brown have been the heartbeat of Crusaders basketball this season and the duo led the way for a revenge win Saturday afternoon. Bergen Catholic (18-8) avenged a pair of regular season losses to Don Bosco (23-4) to win the 2022 Bergen County Jamboree title. Richardson and Brown each dropped 21 points while Terry Copeland returned from a month-long injury absence and contributed 12 points. Dylan Harper led the Ironmen with 20 points.

Mainland 58 St. Augustine 56 (OT) | Boys | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament Championship

The Mustangs went the distance with the second-seeded Hermits and won an overtime thriller to complete a Cinderella run to their first Cape-Atlantic League tournament championship. Mainland also becomes the first 8-seed to win the CAL title in tournament history. Tournament MVP Cohen Cook scored a game-high 26 points, including the go-ahead free throws in OT for Mainland (15-10). Semaj Bethea and Matt Kouser each had a team-high 17 points for St. Augustine (22-3). Bethea sent the game to overtime with another clutch three in the waning moments of regulation.

St. Benedict’s 78 Blair 60 | Boys | Prep A Championship

St. Benedict’s (22-1) defeated Blair (21-5) 78-60 for the 2022 Prep A Title. Locked into a tight 39-31 game at halftime, St. Benedict’s extended their lead to as many as 20 in the third quarter and controlled the rest of the second half. Ty-Laur Johnson received MVP for his 25 points, Oklahoma commit Otega Oweh finished with 19 points for Blair. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights and post-game reaction from Newark:


Gill St. Bernard’s 84 Rutgers Prep 63 | Boys | Somerset County Tournament Championship

Mackenzie Mgbako had a sensational performance with 29 points, 15 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists, and 3 blocked shots to lead GSB to an 8th Somerset County title. Denver Anglin and Geancarlo Pejuero added 19 apiece for the 18-6 Knights. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Montgomery High School


Mainland 54 Wildwood Catholic Academy 38 | Girls | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament Championship

The Mustangs took an early lead and never looked back, capturing the CAL Tournament title. Kaitlyn Boggs earned MVP honors, as Boggs scored a game-high 19 points to go along with ten rebounds for top-seeded Mainland (23-2). Kimmy Casiello scored a team-high 13 points for third-seeded Wildwood Catholic (21-5) in the loss.
