Freehold Township 6 Allentown 5 – Boys

Weather has been the headlining story of April thus far. Wednesday’s matchup between Freehold Township and Allentown was played in Manalapan due to poor field conditions for both teams. It was a close back and forth battle as we would end the first half all tied up. In the third Allentown jumped out to a two-goal lead to head into the fourth up 5-3. However, Matt Kondrup for Freehold would tie the game with a pair of goals in the final three minutes to send it to overtime. One extra period wasn’t enough so a second overtime was needed to decide a winner. After a lengthy run from Mike Farrell it would Matt Graybush who would bring home the victory for the Patriots with a game-winning goal to take down Allentown 6-5. Township is off to a 2-0 start this year and should be one team to look out for in the Shore Conference. Watch the highlights and post-game interview with Graybush:
