Dakota Vastola’s end to end rush in the third period broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Lancers a third straight win to start the 2023-24 season. Middletown North had a 1-0 lead on a Jack Turner goal before the Lancers got goals from Danny Greenhall in the second and Nick Kasich early in the third to take a 2-1 lead. Matt Turrisi drew the Lions even with under five minutes to go in the third, but Vastola responded 45 seconds later with an awesome end to end rush that ended with a backhand for the game-winner.
