Nick Lioudakis scored his second goal of the game with 3:21 to go in the third period to give the Eagles a tie against their crosstown rival. Thanks to Middletown South’s opening night win over Middletown North, the Eagles retain the Middletown Mayor’s Cup. Lioudakis and Mike Racioppi had two goals apiece for the Eagles. Justin Skelly had a pair for Middletown North with Anthony Tavares and John Hallard scoring the other Lions goals. Middletown North jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and had a 4-2 advantage, but both times the Eagles fell behind two goals they responded almost immediately.
