Colts Neck soccer standout and US National Women’s Soccer U17 midfielder Frankie Tagliaferri is named All-USA Girls Soccer Player of the Year by USA Today – teammate Amanda Visco was also named a first team All-USA selection
Colts Neck soccer standout Frankie Tagliaferri continues to pile up awards. The midfielder was named All-USA Girls Soccer Player of the Year by USA Today. She had 28 goals and 18 assists for the Cougars on the way to a Group 3 state championship. The Cougars stunned the #1 team in the country, Northern Highlands, as Tagliaferri drew a foul and converted a penalty kick in a 1-0 upset. Tagliaferri is set to play for Team USA in the Under 17 World Cup in Jordan which begins on September 30th. Frankie has scored 6 goals as a member of Team USA, most recently a goal against Switzerland’s under 19 national team on June 2nd in Chassio.
Visco Named First Team All-USA
In addition to Tagliaferri’s honor, teammate Amanda Visco was named a first team All-USA defender by USA Today. Visco is set to begin her collegiate career as she is staying in-state to play for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
