The second round of the state baseball playoffs had a pair of games on Wednesday. JSZ has highlights of New Providence’s road win at Dayton

New Providence 11 Dayton 6 | North 2 Group 1 Quarterfinal

The Pioneers pounded 16 hits and started the offensive outburst with a four-run second inning to avenge an 11-1 loss to Dayton in the regular season. Luca Vitale, Jake Monaco and Sean Reilly all had three hits with Reilly leading the way with three RBI’s in the win. New Providence will face the winner of top seed Wood-Ridge and Brearley in the North 2 Group 1 semifinals.
