Whenever our cameras come to the Prudential Center it is always an unforgettable moment for those involved. The New Jersey Devils helped host a piece of history that will not soon be forgotten as fans in Newark witnessed the inaugural Girls Ice Hockey State Championship. Morristown-Beard (1) defeated Summit (5) 3-1 to capture the first ever Girls State Title in the sport. Leah Stecker and Logan Sutera would help the Crimson take a 2-0 lead in the second period, Stecker would add another goal to finish with two on the night. Stanley Cup Champion and Morristown-Beard Head Coach, Bruce Driver returned to his stomping grounds where he helped raise a banner more than twenty yearsago as a player to hopefully start a new chapter for Women’s sports in NJ.
