Moorestown 10 Gill St. Bernard’s 5 | Kirst Cup Quarterfinal

The Quakers were shorthanded in their state championship win last weekend, but they’re now at full strength and looking as dangerous as ever. Fourth-seeded Moorestown (18-5), the Group 3 champions, caught fire in the second quarter and beyond to power past the Non-Public B champions and fifth-seeded Gill St. Bernard’s (14-7) in the lone first round game of the 2024 Kirst Cup. Chase Caulder led the way with three goals and two assists while Cole Pitcher and Aidan Ruff each scored two goals in the win. Eight Moorestown players were suspended for the Group 3 championship last Saturday following a fracas in the Quakers’ sectional final win over Shawnee on June 5th. The Kirst Cup is an unsanctioned postseason tournament not affiliated with the NJSIAA, so the suspensions hold no weight this week. Moorestown will face top-seeded Summit in the semifinal round at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th at Kean University.
