Donovan Catholic WR Michael Thomas III has garnered offers from some of college football’s elite programs. Thomas III made a verbal commitment to play in-state at Rutgers and head coach Greg Schiano choosing the Scarlet Knights over Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Maryland, Duke, Boston College, Illinois, West Virginia and Syracuse. Thomas III has elite speed and is a top 100 national recruit. He committed on Tuesday evening just hours after Toms River North OL Jaelyne Matthews committed to Rutgers at a noon ceremony.
Thomas announced on his social media channels: “After a long discussion with my family and friends, I decided to commit to CHOP,” he wrote in the caption. “Thank you for all the support and love. RU nation, I’m staying home, baby.”
