Ava Metzger threw a 1-hitter with 16 strikeouts and the Cougars put up four runs in the 3rd and five more in the 7th to claim the school’s first sectional title on the softball diamond one day after the baseball team accomplished the same historic feat. Freshman Julianna Kowaleski got the scoring started with an RBI single in the second and she capped off a four run 3rd inning with an RBI double. Sasha Stone and Metzger also had two RBI’s at the plate. Cassidy Relay made a home run saving catch in center. Stone and Kate Mager also delivered outstanding plays in the field.
