Manasquan 7 Whippany Park 3

Connor Muly got some early run support and went the distance as Manasquan scored a 7-3 win over Whippany Park at Toms River East High School in the Group 2 state championship.  Tommy Sheehan started the scoring with an RBI single in the first followed by a two run homer to left by James Harmstead to give the Warriors an 3-0 lead at the end of one.  After Whippany Park scored a pair of RBI doubles in the top of the third to make it a 4-2 game, Manasquan got a three run fifth inning highlighted by Adam Schreck infield single that scored two runs and an Alex Galvan RBI single.  Muly loaded the bases in the top of the seventh, but got a 6-4-3 double play and a groundout to short to seal the title.  SSZ has the highlights and post-game reaction from the Warriors first state baseball title since 1986:
