Matawan won the 7 on 7 Shore Conference title over the summer – will it translate to a championship season in the fall?

I’ve heard countless high school coaches over the years talk about how 7 on 7 passing leagues is never an indicator of how a team can perform on Friday nights. But that shouldn’t take away from Matawan’s victory in both the Monmouth County tournament and topping Brick on their home field in the Shore Conference title game. Coach John Kaye has the benefit of easing in talented freshman quarterback LC Pearson with senior Jimmy Pierce. I enjoyed watching film of Aliem Shaw and am looking forward to seeing him in action on both sides of the ball.
