From Shore Sports Zone owner Rich Chrampanis:

For the past twenty years, I’ve had the chance to feel the thrill of Friday night high school football around the country.   I am excited to try and bring that excitement to Shore Conference Football.  Here’s what we’ll be doing this fall on Shore Sports Zone:

Highlights

Shore Sports Zone will spend Friday nights and Saturday afternoons trying to get to as many games as we can to bring you high definition highlights and post-game reaction around the Jersey Shore.   It’s our intention to have a few camera crews getting to games and four to six games every week.  As we build our audience and gain more advertising, we hope to grow to the point of showing double digit games every weekend.

Game Ball

On Sunday we will post a poll with the top performances from the weekend and ask the fans to cast their vote to win a Shore Sports Zone Game Ball.  On Tuesday, we will close the voting and pay a visit to practice on Wednesday and hand out the game ball to the winner and interview him on camera.  Coaches, email your nominations for the SSZ Game Ball by Sunday at noon (rich@shoresportszone.com)

Stat Zone

Every Monday, Shore Sports Zone will compile and crunch the numbers around the Shore Conference and list the area leaders in offense, defense and special teams via the Stat Zone.  Coaches, please email your stats every week to rich@shoresportszone.com

The Zoneman Trophy

What is the Zoneman?  It’s an award I created in South Carolina to honor the best player in the Florence/Myrtle Beach area.  Over the last 15 years, some pretty awesome guys have won it (Lawrence Timmons of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Everett Golson of Notre Dame are a part of the Zoneman’s legacy).  We will ask every head coach in the Shore Conference to vote for the top 3 players in the area (you can’t vote for your own player).  We will name three finalists and profile them at the Shore Sports Zone football banquet.

The All-Zone Team

The three Zoneman Finalists will be joined with a 32 player All-Zone team selected by Shore Sports Zone to be honored at a Decembe r banquet.  We’ll show highlights of our All-Zone picks, announce the Zoneman winner and videotape the entire banquet to show on SSZ later that week.   We know that this will be one of the big nights in the high school football season and can’t wait to showcase the outstanding players in the Shore Conference!

To those who have visited our site, thanks for jumping on board so early.  It takes time to build a program, every football coach will tell you that.  We will continue to work tirelessly to bring you extensive coverage throughout the high school football season.  The Zone Nation, Jersey Shore style has been born and will grow day by day!
