A new name for the program formerly known as Monsignor Donovan and some new faces for head coach Dan Duddy

Rich’s Take

Coach Dan Duddy has without a doubt created a sense of family among his players.   At the end of practice he asked for prayers for family members and loved ones of his players.  It will take all of us a long time to lose the moniker of Monsignor Donovan, but the school is embracing its new name.  Besides the new name, there’s new faces like transfer Joe Lozell.  I met defensive end Nyeem Calhoun when I did a story on the Griffins stellar power lifting program.  He’s a college prospect on the defensive line and I can tell you that some institution is going to get the complete package.  College recruiters always look at film, but Nyeem has the intangibles going for him.  The fact that he has a tremendous passion in the weight room is only going to make him that much more of an asset to a college football program.  On top of that, he’s a polite and intelligent young man.  Add that all up with some great natural athletic ability and you have someone who will be an asset wherever he decides to go.
