Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks tips off tonight, and a former Mr. Hoop Zone winner will be in the national spotlight. Selected No. 2 overall by the Spurs in the 2025 NBA Draft, Dylan Harper now finds himself on basketball’s biggest stage in his rookie season. The Ironman Is Mr. Hoop Zone
Harper won the 2024 Mr. Hoop Zone Trophy after receiving 49 of 56 first-place votes. The future Rutgers Scarlet Knight averaged 22.4 points per game and led Don Bosco Prep to the Non-Public “A” state championship.
Claiming Gold in Final HS Game
In his final high school game, Harper poured in 26 points as Don Bosco Prep rolled to a state title.
Keeping it in the Family
Dylan’s mother Maria, was an assistant coach for Don Bosco during his tenure with the Ironemen.
A National Clash
Harper and Don Bosco Prep knocked off current Auburn standout Tahaad Pettiford and Hudson Catholic during the state playoffs.
