First, No. 4 Steinert looks for four Group 3 crowns in a row against North Hunterdon. Then, No. 5 Morris Knolls faces Kingsway in the Group 4 final in a battle of two teams that haven’t won gold in 15+ years. Check out all the action bel0w!
Steinert 6 North Hunterdon 2 | Group 3 State Final
For the first time in New Jersey softball history, a public school has won four consecutive state championships. Steinert (25-4) sits atop Group 3 for a fourth straight season, cementing its place in the history books. Bianca Walsh led the way with three RBIs, while sophomore Victoria Poppert launched her second home run of the season. The senior trio of Walsh, Mia Pope, and Ellie Miller capped off their remarkable careers at Steinert by winning a state title in all four seasons, and leading the Spartans to a historic championship run.

Morris Knolls 14 Kingsway 0 (5 inn.) | Group 4 State Final
In their third Group 4 final appearance in four years, it was finally the charm for No. 5 Morris Knolls softball. The Golden Eagles (29-3) defeated Kingsway (21-6) 14-0 in five innings in Friday to finally bring home the crown for the first time since 2010. Knolls started the game showing off their high-powered offense, leading 8-0 after two innings and scoring six of those runs in the second inning alone. After putting up one run in the 3rd, the Golden Eagles put up five runs in the fifth to cross the run-rule threshold.
Julia Fox and Sofia Cruz each led the team with four RBIs, the former hitting a two-run home run in the 2nd. Starting pitcher Kayla Doyle tossed a gem with 4.1 IP, 4 H, 3 Ks, and 0 ER.
