Sparta 9 Ocean City 5 | Boys | Group 2 State Final

Jace Stiansen went for four goals, while Eddie Brown added a hat trick and three assists to lead the offense in the win. Johnny Palmer was the x-factor in this one as he went 13-of-17 on faceoffs and added a goal for Sparta (16-5). Otter Donhue scored a pair of goals in the loss for Ocean City (16-7). Sparta completes a remarkable week of firsts, and will look to make some noise in next week’s Kirst Cup.

Ridgewood 12 Cherokee 4 | Girls | Group 4 State Final
USC commit Grace Sullivan put together a career day, setting a new single-game high with an eight-point performance. Sullivan, Katie Adams, and Lindsay LaBier combined for 10 goals to lead the Maroons. Ridgewood (21-4) captured the program’s first state title since 2023, doing so in what were some of the final high school games for several players on the roster. Emotions ran high after the final whistle as the tight-knit Ridgewood squad celebrated both the championship and the opportunity to play together one last time.

Mendham 10 Manasquan 3 | Girls | Group 2 State Final
No. 12 Mendham girls lacrosse are state champions for the first time since 2010 after defeating Manasquan 10-3 in Saturday’s Group 2 final at TCNJ. The key to their victory was how they started, leading the Warriors 7-1 after two quarters as Samantha Mele, Notre Dame commit Shea Shoulberg, and Amelia Eichman each scored twice. Mele, a freshman, would add two more in the second half for a four-goal state championship debut to finish with 41 goals on the year. The last goal of the game was scored by senior Grace Monahan who scored her 51st of the year to finish her career with 171 goals and 278 points.
Goalie Maeve Robbins also had a great day between the pipes as she saved 9/12 shots.
