Tim Welsh went the distance on a 3-hitter giving up just one unearned run in the top of the first and Allentown put up a three-spot in the first inning to split the regular season series with the Spartans. Rutgers commit Jack Sweeney broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI single as part of the three-run first. Chris Whalen’s RBI triple and Anthony Lino’s RBI double were part of the first-inning offense. Welsh walked just one and struck out seven.
