Freshman DiSalvo Dominates Oak Knoll

Olivia DiSalvo has been as good as advertised this season for Scotch Plains-Fanwood. The freshman began her high school pitching career with a masterful, five-inning one-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts against Oak Knoll. DiSalvo accounted for nearly 43 percent of the vote to win the award.

Crandall Cruises by Garfield with Baker’s Dozen of Punchouts

In the first start of his senior season, Stephen Crandall tossed six strong innings along with 13 strikeouts in an 8-1 win over Garfield on April 6. Crandall only gave up a single earned run and walked no batters in his season debut. He accounted for 30.3 percent of the vote total to bring home the award.
