The midpoint of the week is here and the soccer action continues. Follow along as tonight’s highlights roll in!

Hun 3 Pennington 0 | Boys

Hun improved to 4-2 following a 3-0 win over state power Pennington. Conor Frykholm with two first half goals added another as under 10 minutes remained in regulation. Goalie Diego Pena ended the afternoon with five saves. It is the first time since 2010 that Hun defeated Pennington.

Chris McKinney scored in the fifth straight match for the Panthers and Thomas Schreiber got the equalizer for Hunterdon Central in a great match between two top-20 teams.  Bridgewater Raritan remains unbeaten 3-0-2 while the Red Devils fall to 3-1-2 on the season.  JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Bridgewater Township:

Rutgers Prep 8 Ridge 1 | Girls

Rutgers Prep (5-0) is one of the hottest teams in the state and has one of the most dangerous scorers in the state, too. Sophomore Addison Halpern logged a career-high six goals in a lopsided win over Ridge (3-3-1). Rutgers Prep senior Melina Rebimbas will be out for the rest of September and the majority of October as she goes overseas to play for the U.S. Women’s  National Team in the U-17 World Cup. Right now, it looks like the Argonauts will be just fine in her absence.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights from Somerset:
