The 2022 lacrosse season gets underway on Wednesday, and JSZ has highlights from four games to get the action going. Check back throughout the night as the highlights are posted!


Ridgewood 7 Don Bosco 6 | Boys

Simply put, statement made. Ridgewood is the top story on the opening day of the 2022 season after taking out the reigning TOC champions Don Bosco while also extinguishing their 18-game win streak. John Dunphey scored a pair of goals for the Maroons, but it was Charlie Merrick’s goal in the fourth quarter that gave Ridgewood their first lead of the entire game. Koleton Marquis and Mark Marino each had two goals for the Ironmen in the loss.

Bergen Catholic 11 CBA 10 (2OT) | Boys

Nick Muller’s goal in double overtime gave the Crusaders a dramatic double-overtime win on the road in a fantastic game played by both teams. Muller finished the game with a goal and six assists while teammate Crispin Kaye had six goals and an assist. CBA got a goal from Ian McRae with 9.5 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Lower Cape May 12 Middle Township 7 | Boys

The Caper Tigers built a 6-0 halftime lead and then held off the rival Panthers to earn the victory. Macky Bonner led Lower with five goals, while Matt Brown scored four goals in the victory. Matthew Frame, Brett Nabb, and Greg Hrynowski all scored two goals apiece for Middle in the loss.

Shore 14 Monroe 5 | Boys

Shore Regional opens the Boys Lacrosse season 1-0 following a 14-5 victory over three time reigning GMC Champions Monroe. After falling behind 2-0 to begin play, Shore ended the opening quarter with 4 unanswered scores, they would tack on three more in the second to lead 7-2 at halftime. Carson Cooke with three goals in the third push the score to 12-4 to close out the third, Cooke ended the afternoon with 5, Sam Madalone also had 5 goals. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:
