The knockout stage of the Shore Conference Tournament got underway on Wednesday as JSZ brings you three first-round matchups. Howell and Manalapan take centerstage in our ACI Medical & Dental School Shore Conference Game of the Week!
Manalapan 2 Howell 1 | Boys | Shore Conference Tournament First Round
Ethan Lustig showed an incredible amount of relentlessness in the second half to help his Braves score a massive first round win in the 2024 SCT. Lustig assisted on both Manalapan (14-1-1) goals in the final 40 minutes to best Howell (8-5-1). Dan Altman and Eduardo Russo scored those two Manalapan goals while Nicholas Turturro had Howell’s lone goal in the loss. The Braves are set to face Colts Neck in the next round, setting the stage for another high-level game.

Red Bank Regional 3 Neptune 2 | Boys | Shore Conference Tournament First Round
Alex Salvo scored two second half goals inlcuding the eventual game winner as the Bucs get their first Shore Conference Tournament win since 2013. Julian Lemus gave Neptune a 1-0 lead in the second half before Gavin McTighe scored less than three minutes later to tie the match 1-1. Salvo would score two straight goals to put the Bucs in front 3-1. Giovanni Bedward scored with 4:03 left but Neptune ran out of time to force overtime. RBR will host Ocean Township in the Round of 16 on Friday.

Southern Regional 4 Raritan 2 | Boys | Shore Conference Tournament First Round
The Rams trailed 2-1 at halftime, then rattled off three unanswered goals in the second half to grab a first round victory in the Shore Conference Tournament. Aidan Donnelly led the way with his second hat trick of the season. Kaan Zenger netted his seventh goal of the season and added an assist in the win for Southern (10-4-1). Eoin Davis and Owen Brackett scored goals in the loss for Raritan (6-6-1). Southern will face Central Regional in the SCT Round of 16 on Friday.
