Summit 8 West Essex 6 | North Group 2 Final

Jack Holmes’ late heroics helped lift the Hilltoppers to their sixth-straight sectional championship. Tied 6-6 with under five minutes to play, Holmes delivered the go-ahead goal and then another goal for insurance as top-seeded Summit (14-4) pulled away from the upset-minded Knights. Third-seeded West Essex (11-10) trailed the entire game until they erased a three-goal deficit in the fourth quarter thanks to big goals from Anthony Drago and Jack Massotto. Summit will face off against Wall (17-5) in the Group 2 state championship on Friday.

The Green Wave led 7-0 at halftime following a well balanced attack throughout the first two quarters of play that allowed them to dominate on offense, defense and face-offs. Delbarton closed out the third quarter with 10 unanswered scores. Gray Doyle, Jack Sartorius and Vinny Ferrara each finished with two goals while Nick Faccone was perfect 8-8 on face-offs.
