Conference tournament play is underway throughout the state.  JSZ has highlights from two opening round games!

Sayreville 61 South Brunswick 49 | Boys | Greater Middlesex Tournament | Preliminary Round

(14) Sayreville (15-7) defeated (19) South Brunswick (5-18) 61-49 to advance to the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament First Round. The game remained at one possession until midway through fourth quarter when sophomore Sam Jones helped put Sayreville ahead by 10 late. Jones and fellow sophomore Chidi Chukwurah both finished with 18 points and six rebounds.

Holmdel 71 Shore Regional 52 | Girls | Shore Conference Tournament 1st Round

The Hornets opened the game with a 32-3 run and cruised into the Round of 16 thanks to three players with double-doubles. Mackenzie Teevan had 20 pts, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks.  Senior guard Allison Cannon contributed 18 points, 11 assists with seven rebounds and  Michelle Steele added 15 points and 10 rebounds.  The #13 seed will travel to #4 Saint Rose in the Round of 16.
