A pair of overtime finishes highlight another great day of action from the first round of the state hockey playoffs!
Pingry 4 Seton Hall Prep 3 (OT) | Non-Public First Round
Freddie Field scored the game-winning goal to give the tenth-seeded Big Blue a thrilling comeback victory to open the postseason. Pingry (14-4-1) erased a pair of deficits in the first and second period before pulling of the upset in overtime. Javier Trujillo was fantastic in net, stopping 36 shots for the Big Blue. Evan Xie, Charlie Sherman, and Alex Payne added goals in the victory. Zachary Cumming, John Renzullo, and Kaden Frei scored for seventh-seeded Seton Hall Prep (12-9).

Ryan Lukko’s third goal of the game came 4:30 into overtime to give the #9 seed a dramatic win on the road. Toms River South East took a 2-1 lead in the third period with 7:10 to go on a Brady Vernon goal. Lukko scored on a one-timer for his 50th goal of the season with 1:16 left to force overtime. Lukko now has three straight 50 goal seasons and 317 career points. Colonia-Woodbridge will face top seed Governor Livingston in the South Co-Op quarterfinals.
