Hockey season is heating up as JSZ brings you a pair of great early season showdowns on the ice. Don Bosco Prep and St. Augustine meet for the first time since last season’s Non-Public state final. Plus, Middletown North and Middletown South write the latest chapter of their rivalry in our ACI Medical & Dental School Shore Conference Game of the Week!
Don Bosco Prep 5 St. Augustine 2
The Ironmen were all business in their first road trip of the season as they scored a measure of revenge against the defending state champion Hermits. Jack Foye had two goals and assist to lead the way, with the freshman upping his goal total to five through three games. Petyon Murphy, Erik Wrynn, and Rian Lahar added goals for Don Bosco Prep (3-0). Anthony Yeager and Lucas Riccardi scored in the loss for St. Augustine (1-1).

Middletown North 4 Middletown South 3 | Shore Conference
The Lions scored four goals in the second period highlighted by a pair of goals in the final two minutes to build a 4-1 lead and held on against their crosstown rival. With a 2-1 lead, Caden Kirk scored to make it a 3-1 game followed by a goal in the final minute of the period by Dominiks Marnauza to build a 4-1 lead. Griffin Koske had a pair of goals for the Eagles in the loss. Koske scored in the final minute to make it 4-3, but the Eagles ran out of time in their comeback bid.
