Things are heating up in field hockey with the state playoffs just around the corner. JSZ brings you highlights from the Cape-Atlantic League and Shore Conference Tournaments!

Hammonton 2 Ocean City 1 | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament Final

The Blue Devils avenged a loss to the Red Raiders in last year’s final to bring home the CAL Tournament championship. Chloe Comunale scored the go-ahead goal in the third quarter, which proved to be the difference between these conference rivals. Kiley Kozlowski added a goal in the win for top-seeded Hammonton (14-3). Taylor Amstutz scored the lone goal in the loss for second-seeded Ocean City (9-6-1). Both teams now get set for the South Jersey Group 3 playoffs later this week.

Shore Regional 3 Southern Regional 1 | Shore Conference Tournament Semifinal

Briella Elias scored on a penalty stroke and assisted Kendall Bennett just 62 seconds later in the fourth quarter to give Shore Regional a three goal advantage and a return to the Shore Conference championship game. Emma Haynes scored in the second quarter to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 halftime lead. Jessica Bruther scored late in the fourth for Southern’s only goal. Shore will take on Point Pleasant Boro this Sunday in the championship game. The Blue Devils are the defending champs but the Panthers beat Shore in the regular season setting the stage for an intriguing rematch.
